College Exploration Project

Getting ready for college can be a stressful, but exciting time. This project will assist you with exploring your higher education options. Yes, you will present your findings to the class to assist them with college options. Students will receive the rubric by Friday.

Search the Net and select 3 higher education institutions you would be interested in attending (colleges, business schools, etc.)

At least one of the options must be a minimum of a community college

You may have a combination of trade schools, the military or any other educational option as long as you have at least one higher education institution (I consider this to be a place that will allow you to earn at least an Associates degree).

Obtain the following information about these institutions

Undergraduate Freshman Admission requirements

Application Deadlines for Fall and Summer Location of college
Include things about the town/city that the school is located in.
Sampling of degrees offered ( At least 4)
This should include the degree that you plan to seek.
Ex. Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice
List 3 student organizations Cost (tuition- resident or nonresident, room/board, etc.) Scholarships ( List 2 scholarships offered by the school )
Provide information about the scholarships
Graduation rate (start as freshman and graduate on time) Entertainment options
This can be on campus or off campus.
Unique features (what makes it different)
Say what they are and describe them in detail. You need to provide visuals for the unique feature.

Compile the information and display attractively via PPT

Title Slide (Name, Career Field, Title)

Content Slides (Institution of Higher Learning’s information) Include visuals/pictures of institution

Present to Class (5/i9 – 5/21, 5/25 – 5/28)

Present to class to inform them of various college options

During the presentations, students are required to write 2 facts learned from each college in their tablets. (Choose a section to write your facts)
